We had the pleasure of working with the Banich Family whom was part of rebuild from the Four Mile Canyon Fire which burned September 2010 in Boulder, Colorado.
The process for a number two (#2) 3 1/4″ Red Oak hardwood floor in a new construction scenario is to install the floor, wall to wall, even though there will be cabinets installed at a later date. This guarantees that no matter what changes might be made in the future; there will always be hardwoods underneath.
The floor was installed, sanded and finished with a coat of Dura Seal Dry Fast Sealer and two coats of Bona Mega Satin Finish. Then, after a 72-hour interim, the floor was covered with new cotton drop clothes to protect the floor through the last month of construction.
When all of the work was completed the floor was then uncovered, screened and recoated with a final additional coat of Bona Traffic Satin for years of the hardest protection available on the market today.
The red oak treads, risers, and railings were installed along with the balusters which were chosen and bought by the owners.

May your new home be filled with love and laughter, good fortune, sunshine, and happiness.
Congratulations!
